HNPW Event – Loss and Damage Financing: Humanitarian Perspectives

Tuesday, March 25, 2025: 14:00 - 15:30 CET

Humanitarians are already working in areas affected by loss and damage from climate change – alongside, and with, affected communities. As the loss and damage financing architecture continues to be operationalized, ensuring that mechanisms such as the Santiago Network and the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) reach the most vulnerable people and communities is a key humanitarian ask and concern.

Ahead of the next FRLD Board meeting and inaugural High-Level Dialogue on Loss and Damage, set to take place in April 2025, this event will provide an opportunity for a practical conversation on the emerging loss and damage funding architecture, including on the complementarity and coherence of emerging funding arrangements.

This event is hosted by the IASC Climate Crisis Sub-Group, organised by FAO, WFP, UNHCR, IFRC, and the Charter Secretariat, and will discuss humanitarian perspectives and collective inputs for the operationalisation of the Santiago Network and the FRLD.

Organisers request that you register through the HNPW platform. Log-in is required to find the event programme and register.
